One enquiry form, analytics that count reading, and nothing sold to anybody. This page says exactly what is collected and how to have it removed.

The short answer

In short

The Insight Journal collects what you type into its enquiry form, uses it to answer that enquiry, and keeps it for 24 months. It measures readership with Google Analytics 4. It does not sell personal data, does not run advertising cookies, and does not build a profile of you across other sites.

Exactly what the enquiry form collects

This list is generated from the form itself, so it cannot fall out of date with what the page actually sends.

You type it
  • your name
  • your email address
  • your phone number
  • What's this about?
  • Which section is this about?
  • the message you write
Sent with the submission
  • the page you submitted from
  • the campaign source
  • the campaign medium
  • the campaign name

These say which page and which campaign an enquiry came from. They identify a page, not a person.

There is no phone field on this site. Enquiries are answered in writing, so no number is asked for.

Who receives it, and for how long

  • The editorial team. The enquiry arrives as email at [email protected] and is answered from there.
  • Formaloo, the form provider, which stores the submission so it can be delivered. It processes the data on our instruction and for no purpose of its own.
  • Google Analytics 4 receives page views, referrers, and coarse location for the site as a whole. It never receives what you type into the form.
  • Cloudflare serves the site and logs requests for security and abuse prevention.
  • Retention. Enquiries are deleted after 24 months. Analytics data ages out on Google's own retention schedule.

Your rights over what we hold

Write to [email protected] and ask for a copy of what is held about you, a correction, or deletion. The request is answered from the same address the enquiry came from, and acted on within 30 days. There is nothing to pay, and no form to fill in to make the request.

If you want to be counted out of analytics entirely, a browser-level "do not track" or an ad-blocking extension stops the Google Analytics script from loading, and the site works exactly the same without it.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you sell or share my details?
No. Enquiry details are used to answer the enquiry. They are not sold, rented, or passed to advertisers, and there is no mailing list on this site to add you to.
How long do you keep an enquiry?
24 months, counted from the last message in the thread. After that the record is deleted from the form provider and from the editorial mailbox.
How do I have my data deleted?
Email [email protected] from the address you wrote in, and say you want the enquiry deleted. We confirm in writing once it is done.
Does this site use cookies?
Google Analytics 4 sets analytics cookies to count visits and measure which pages are read. Nothing on this site sets an advertising cookie, and there is no cross-site tracking pixel.
Do affiliate links track me?
Some links to software vendors are affiliate links, and the destination vendor may set its own cookie once you land on their site. That happens under their policy, not ours, and it never changes what this site ranks or recommends.
